Introduced October 13 and referred to Judiciary October 14, the proposal would change Pennsylvania's prohibited-weapons language after the federal NFA dispute.

Pennsylvania House Bill 2855 was introduced October 13, 2026, and referred to the Judiciary Committee on October 14. It is a proposal, not enacted law.

The bill would amend Title 18 Sections 908 and 908.1. Its text removes the current defense tied to compliance with the National Firearms Act and rewrites the prohibited-offensive-weapons definition to refer to applicable federal law to the extent required by law. It also changes the rules for electric or electronic incapacitation devices.

This is Pennsylvania legislation responding to uncertainty created by the federal NFA litigation and ATF guidance. The official bill page shows no passage or effective date. Ohio law did not change. Not legal advice. Verify current law before acting.
